Kidzus sauntered over to the table occupied by the Brothers from the house Davii. Carlislus was grimly slurping at a weak broth, while Maskedus was quaffing wine from a skin and glaring belligerently at everyone else in the room.
"How goes it, co-conspirators," muttered Kidzus, waving his cloak in an eldrich fashion. Carlislus sighed. "Cut it out, you berk" snarled Maskedus, pointedly digging at the table with the blade of his dagger. Kidzus shrugged. "I have come... with news," he said, adopting an air of mystery and intrigue. "Then spill it, or it will be your innards which are spilled!" cried Carlislus, rising from his bench and dashing his broth into his brother's face. "Um," said Kidzus. "Well. The news was..." He gulped as he watched Maskedus, vexed, lick his lips. "The news was that, uh. Someone... poisoned your broth." "PPFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFT", said Maskedus. Carlislus looked ill. "I know not whom, my l..." Kidzus began to babble, but Carlislus grabbed him by the collar. "Wretched knave!" he cried. "You needed but to speak swiftly and clearly to save my life, let alone that of my brother... Ditherer! Thrice-becursed bletherer of nonsensicalities! I..." "Brother," said Maskedus carefully. "Be still." After a long moment, Carlislus placed the quivering Kidzus back on the ground, at which point Maskedus swiftly lent forward and cut Kidzus on the arm with his dagger. "Ow," observed Kidzus. "By the by," said Maskedus sanguinely, "My dagger is poisoned, too." "Wh- what? Ow!" exclaimed Kidzus again. "You dagwart! There are only two antidotes in..." He stopped himself. The brothers looked at one another, then at Kidzus again. Kidzus looked away, then slowly started to siddle away from the bench. The two brothers got up, slowly, keeping their eyes on Kidzus at all times, who was slowly backing away. A moment of calculation appeared in Carlislus' eye; and he turned and looked at his brother, who looked back and nodded with a tight grin. Then, with a yell, he leapt forward - Only to be felled by Carlislus' dagger, which smoothly blossomed in his side. A look of shock was all that registered on Maskedus' face as he crashed to earth. Carlislus stepped over the body of his brother before slinging an arm over Kidzus' shaking shoulders. "I never liked the wimp all that much anyway," he boomed, now jovial. "Show me these antidotes, Kidzus, and be swift about it! Were the poison to pox my face it would be an awful shame, for it is said that I am quite the ladies' man." Masked was a loyal conspirator (human). Night order by 10pm, s'il vous plait. -------------------- You are the ones who can hear airs. Who can be frightened or encouraged.
