The steps of the Senate were bathed by moonlight.

In the darkness, the Caesar could make out fourteen figures. A small mob. He couldn't make out faces but he didn't need to; he knew perfectly well who the collaborators were. Carlislus and Maskedus, brothers from the House of Davii; Xyzius the Parthian; Kramerus would be there, and all the rest. The usual mutterers and malcontents.

In the darkness, fourteen weapons were hefted, blades tested, sheaths loosened.

Darkness was wrapping itself around Rome and Caesar hurried onwards, but his shadows hurried before him, stretching their grip around the eves and and lees of Rome's rich façades. A shadow flitting in a doorway; a hunched figure at a junction; in such a manner was Caesar herded, away from Rome's busy thoroughfares, where too many eager ears would leap to attention at an Emperor's yell.

Finally, Caesar found himself in a dark, enclosed alleyway, staring at a blank wall. He turned; in the dim light, could he make out fourteen forms, elongated shadows in bundled robes, each with their back to a wall, slowly inching towards him?

Caesar licked his lips, and quietly but calmly spoke: "Three of my men are in your midst; and as for the rest, the Tribune has your names. Now go hence, conspirators, or you too will be dead by morning."

A long moment before the oppression in the air lifted; but much longer before Caesar dared stir his leaden muscles to find his way home.

---

Later that night, fourteen assassins met in the dank hole that they had made their home. Each eyed the other with new-found and naked distrust, while blades that had expected immediate satiation developed even stringer thirsts in the hands of their mistrustful masters. The candles guttered low; the muttered insinuations, lower.

Each man in turn declared his willingness to kill, and his willingness to die for the plot. By the end of the night, at least one would have his wish.

Day will end tomorrow at 9pm.

By "future archaeologists" I mean "future MOON archaeologists", but it's a well-known fact that anything proceeded by the adjective "future" sort of already has "moon" implied there.

Right guys I just got a PM that says I'm a human so don't vote for me. If someone votes for me then obviously you can't read. I think C-Dave got the same PM so Retracted - INH must be a wolf.

Quod est demonstratum.

Today I will be voting for people who say Day 1 is useless and/or don't vote. Just so you're pre-warned, chumps. I think Retracted was Kidz non-scholarly tone marks the joviality of a wolf and allows me to kick start my old grudge with him one more time.

retracted, Jim gets my now customary automatic vote for putting someone on 2 on day 1, etc. etc.

I will continue to do this each and every time someone does it, for the rest of TWG history.

That you know of. Anyway, if the Seer and the Vigilante can contact me it would be appreciated. It's good to be able to start a HA this early in the game.

Hang on Kidz, we can't both have gotten that PM?

Retracted from that nefarious Kramer because I'm beginning to get annoyed by him always voting for that reason on day 1. From now on, in every game where he votes someone for this reason on day 1, I will vote for him.

edit: I may have missed your Kidz vote, but I'm still watching you

I think Josh is playing silly buggers. I got a remarkably similar an identical PM.

However, XYZIA has been acting awfully quiet. Suspiciously quiet, wouldn't you say?
