Was found, sobbing on the floor at the scene of the assassination and was sent home. Dropped out of the force, and ended up peddling drugs in the alleys of the city.
As part of the man's drive to 'take people off the streets and put them in work' the now eighteen year old Scopia owes everything to the man. On discovering a conspiracy to assassinate the man (the infamous 'Weller Street Society' he ended up killing the leader in a fit of loyal panic). Whisked out of the court and quickly elevated to the position of the Man's chief bodyguard. Suitably paranoid, brutal and sadistic for a man in such an important position, and fanatically devoted to his boss.

Five years have flown by for Jorro. He has emerged from the shadows a ruthless man, but never sadistic or vicious. The Pirello family now controls much of the streets, and even the Man is wary when challenging his power.
His courtship of Karen O'Malley is proceeding as planned. The girl is besotted with him, and, after four years of teasing and prevaricating, Jorro grew tired of the girl and the sport she provided him, and finally did the practical thing; he proposed to her. Their wedding approaches.

Saving The Man proved to be a real boon for Serpico's career. He rose through the ranks quickly and within two years was partnering Jake. However, on December 8th 1941, in a wave of patriotism he signed up for the war. Joining the Marines he rose to the rank of Corporal. Now aged 22, he has been sent to liberate Italy.

A few months after the attempts on The Man's life, Big J - on behalf of the Purple Hand - made preliminary contact with associates of a family opposed to The Man. This family, though J didn't know it, were the Fiorellis, his childhood friends, children of his parents' employers.
Due to the heat created by the assassination attempts, the Fiorellis were playing it cautiously, and had not yet met Big J or any of the Purple Hand in person when in 1939 many of the group, including Yun Chin and Big J, decided to go into China to aid the resistance against the Japanese.
Smuggled into Shantou Harbour shortly before it was captured by the Japanese, the men of the Purple Hand were soon able to make contact with Mao's 8th Road Army, and helped the guerilla war against Japan and the Chinese Nationalists. Between 1939 and 1942, they made numerous attacks against Japanese targets; between attacks they continued their training and meditation. During this time, Big J became even more withdrawn, only showing true passion when it came to the attacks themselves. For he hated the Japanese almost as much as The Man, after seeing countless helpless men, women and children gunned down by Japanese soldiers. Amongst those he saw die was Yun Chin, who had taken J as a son after Mr Fung's death.
After Chin's death in early 1942, it is unclear what Big J then did, as he would not speak of that year. However it is believed that he attempted to flee China, and was rescued by a US Navy submarine. However he achieved it, he arrived back in Oceans Peak in 1943, carrying many partially-healed physical wounds, and many more psychological. He is now even more slow to trust and quick to anger, and is proficient in hand-to-hand and knife combat.
Fiorellis - If you don't like how he came in contact with them, feel free to ask and I'll change it.

He's had a string of meaningless relationships, trying to escape from his life in the women he sleeps with, but he's been unable to rekindle the spark he'd had in his twentys.
Spending most of his time in one of The Man's social clubs he is reguarded by most as simply sullen and unsociable but those who know better respect and pity him in equal measure.

Jed was promoted to Chief of Police as planned, and still keeps up the pretense that he still lives with his wife. He switches between two homes, one of which contains Davey and Lauren Gladstone who he has been keeping hostage to exact his revenge. He has told his subordinates that he is expecting another child with his wife. He is now fuelled by his hatred for the children who escaped The Man's culling - he believes if they did not run he would not have lost his son. As a result he has grown closer to The Man and now allows certain police resources to be manipulated to allow employees to go free.
Davey and Lauren Gladstone
Davey's existence is a fairly tormented one. He has not left his apartment for years, remaining tied to a chair whenever Jed leaves the apartment. He has become frail and weak, barely alive. Lauren has been repeatedly raped by Jed and is now carrying his child.

Is now working for The Man. She is his trusted lawyer, legal advisor and mistress. She is becoming steadily more distant with Jake.
Has now been infatuated with Jorro for 5 years. He has proposed and the wedding is coming up.
Relations are tense between Victoria and Karen, with Victoria keeping a disapproving eye on Jorro and Karen appalled at the decline of Victoria and Jake's relationship and the suspicion that Victoria is having an affair.

Jake is known across the city and has a network of contacts at all levels of organisations both legal and illegal. Jake's commitment to his job means he has little time for a homelife. For some time he has been extremely suspicious of Victoria: considering it highly likely she is having an affair. Now a powerful individual in his own right; Jake has little need of Victoria or her scheming and throws himself into his work all the more to avoid contact with her. Victoria herself is unaware of Jake's feelings in this regard because of their irregular contact, and a certain level of artfulness which Jake has developed through years matching wits with criminal types.
Jake is currently finding himself tempted to stray by a pretty young Clerk at the Station-house. Marina is young, single, and openly attracted to Jake. His own feelings are causing him considerable pain as he considers Marriage sacred - despite Victoria's possible infidelity. This and the increase in crime (and thus his workload) have resulted in Jake drinking more than he used to. He's not yet an alcoholic but is on a slippery slope.
Jake remains on excellent terms with his Police Captain (and friend), Jed.
Peter O' Malley
Now firmly ensconced in a criminal lifestyle. Brother Jake is aware of Peter's activities and has nothing to do with him. Peter is notoriously good at finding his way into just about anything or anywhere he's not entitled to be. He makes a good living from his activities, and has been called on by The Man in the past.

After coming out of hospital with a severely weakened arm Sophie nearly gave up being a reporter and slipped into a depressive funk. It was only through Steven Parker’s intervention that she was kept on at the Tribune. The two reporters fondness for each other grew and was eventually realised when Parker asked Sophie to move in with him. Sophie was happy to accept his offer enabling her to escape the increasingly dangerous situation at the new Fiorelli home.
Parker is unaware of the fact that Sophie, now his full reporting partner, is currently on the track of who exactly carried out the killings 15 years ago.
Tony Fiorelli - 25
Shy, retiring Tony moved out of Ocean’s Peak shortly after the assassination attempt. Although he was loathe to leave his beloved twin Hollywood called loudly and he could resist no longer. Working through bit parts Tony is currently pursuing the ‘dream’.
Paola Fiorelli - 30
Becoming increasingly disenchanted with her almost publicly homosexual husband Paola has begun setting plans in motion to take over the ‘family business’ and start giving Jorro Pirello a run for his money. A reputation for ruthlessness is arising around her – with more than several underground murders being attributed to her men.
Adie Fiorelli - 22
Following a massive argument with her eldest sister Adie stormed out on her own. Currently renting a dingy apartment in one of the more distasteful areas of town Adie makes a living bussing tables in an Uptown restaurant. She has as little to do with her family as possible only meeting with Sophie one or twice a month. Living in the bad side of town has toughened Adie considerably and she has no fear.
Caesar and Pipo are in trouble of they're openly homosexual acts. No-one is certain where it will lead.
